How My Liberation Began & How It’s Going
I come from a long line of Christian ministers, deacons, and orators—and from my mother, a biologist and scientist. Holding complexity is in my DNA. Growing up in Georgia, I was shaped by the South’s practical wit and its weight. My early career in healthcare, and later as a hospital chaplain, taught me how to sit steady on the worst day of someone else’s life. Chaplaincy revealed that grief and love are inseparable, and that the truths we avoid often hold the most meaning.
With over 20 years of leadership across the Pacific Northwest’s healthcare and wellness industry, I’ve held posts at nearly every level. I launched an oncology clinic for UW Medicine, trained extensively as a hospital chaplain. I discovered how reflective practice—also called mindfulness—links spiritual and emotional connection with physical and mental health.
Seeking deeper systemic impact, I pursued clinical mental health counseling, graduating from Seattle University’s program as a provisionally licensed clinician and 2020 NBCC Minority Fellow.
My practice lives at the intersection of mental health, organizational development, and restorative practice—where grief and embodiment become pathways to liberation.
Over time, I realized that my roles as clinician, coach, and consultant were never meant to stay separate. The turning point came when I brought all of myself into the room: clinical insight, chaplaincy presence, relational neuroscience, and organizational psychology. That integration liberated my work—and the leaders and systems I now serve.
Through Liberation Strategies, and often in partnership with Imagine Us, I support leaders, dyads, and organizations when relationship itself is the strategy. Whether conflict is explicit or energy is simply stuck, my work is about naming the unsaid, clarifying what’s hidden, and creating the conditions for transformation.
